The year was 2019.
Things were, well, normal (normal as they could be for someone pursuing life as an Actor)... and then 2020 hit. Let's not remind ourselves too much of the details that followed, as it wasn't the best of times... for me, for us, for most human beans around this crazy world. Suffice to say posting updates to this website started to seem somewhat pointless. So I stopped. Flash forward to now; late 2025 and the sudden urge to re-emerge and give paul-todd.com a little refresh, strikes. And here we are. Still here. Still thinking that maybe, JUST MAYBE someone might be the slightest bit interested in what I have to say. So the biggest bit of news for me as an Actor is that early on in the pandemic I was asked to participate in a table read for Derwin Dalida's feature film script 'Church of Phil'. Not much else going on with the whole Covid thing so even via Zoom, I jumped at the opportunity to connect with other Actors and Filmmakers. And was I glad I did... Derwin's script was AMAZING; polished, professional, crazy-darkly-comedic and insanely fun. So when he asked me to play the role of Australian Private Investigator Sydney in the film, I enthusiastically accepted. We started shooting mid-2023 and after a year of having a ton of fun on-set with friends, principal photography was wrapped. Derwin got to work on the edit and after a couple of private movie theatre screenings of the Director's Cut, the film hit the festival circuit and that's where we're at now. And it's going great; so far we've been fortunate enough to pick up awards for Best Actor, Best Feature Film, Best Comedy, and Best Ensemble Cast (twice so far for this one!), with more festivals to come. Keep an eye on the Church of Phil Instagram (or my Instagram: here) for details on where and how to see the film as we continue on the magical-carpet-ride that is the festival route. In other news, just did a set of new headshots with Chris Jon - awesome photographer and another Australian in LA (which I didn't realize at the time of booking my shoot). See a bunch of them here. That's probably enough for now. Hope everyone is happy, healthy and keeping busy in all the best ways. PT.
